Japanese Green is another smaller version of Shanghai Green. Mixture of origin due to the seeds from Japan while the original breed was from China. Although, it is a more common one and used widely in different areas of china including Hong Kong and other areas.
- Japanese Green contains a heap load of nutritional benefits just like Shanghai Green. The nutritious values include Carbohydrates, Calcium, Dietary Fiber, Protein and some vitamins including, C, E and Beta-carotene.
- The white stalk in the lower portion has a juicy and crunchy taste to it. The green salad leaf on top is best for bitter mineral flavors to become a great addition to soups and other dishes.
Different Cuisines use Japanese Green to make different vegetable dishes along with vegan and meat mix recipes as well
